The Tioga Central Tigers trumped the Lerna Lions, 9-6, at Ballpark of Ecatepec HS. Tioga Central center fielder Gabe Richey was named player of the game for his performance. He went 4 for 5 with a home run and 3 singles, while adding 4 RBI and scoring once. Ricky Hartman earned save number 4. With their winning streak at 4, the Tigers have raced to a strong start this season.

Tioga Central used the timely hitting of Pete Valley to seize the win. The first baseman stroked a 2-run single in the top of the second inning to put the Tigers on top, 3-0. It was his only hit in 3 at-bats, but it was a game-changer.

"It was our day today," Valley told the Tioga Central Chronicle. "But we've got to keep our nose to the grindstone."
