Patriots Lose, 5-2, at Alleycats Ballpark
|
It was a fun time at Alleycats Ballpark, where the Francis Lewis Patriots and Tioga Central Tigers tangled.
The Tioga Central Tigers picked up a win at Alleycats Ballpark, knocking off the Francis Lewis Patriots, 5-2. Starting pitcher Sean McCarthy played a key role in the triumph. The winning pitcher was McCarthy, now 2-0. He tossed 7.2 innings of 5-hit ball, while walking 4 and fanning 11. Ricky Hartman sewed up the save, his 3rd.
The Tigers got a big at-bat from catcher Mike James. For the game, James was 1 for 4 with a home run, while adding 2 RBI and scoring once. In the bottom of the fifth, with a runner on 2nd, he stroked a 2-run home run. His 1st home run of the season gave Tioga Central a 3-1 lead.
McCarthy told a Tioga Central Chronicle reporter that he was "satisfied" with the win.
The Tigers keep rolling, raising their record to 5-3.
