It was a fun time at Ballpark of Ecatepec HS, where the George Washington Patriots and Lerna Lions tangled.

The Lerna Lions defeated the George Washington Patriots, 12-3, in Pete Rose League action at Ballpark of Ecatepec HS, with Lerna right fielder Rich Stewart named player of the game. Lerna starter Jacob Olsen was credited with the win after throwing 138 pitches over 9 innings. His record now stands at 1-0.

Tyler Forshey aided the Lerna cause with a grand slam home run in the bottom of the third. For the game, the third baseman went 1-3 with a home run and a walk, while scoring 2 times and driving in 4.

"I'm just looking for a good pitch that I can hit well," said Stewart. "And not try to do too much."

At 5-3, the Lions have played well so far.
