Islanders Sneak Past Jaguars, 5-4
|
The Grand Island Islanders knocked off the Jacksonville State Jaguars, 5-4, at Chickenhawks Stadium. Allan Barbato, who captured player of the game honors, was a big reason Grand Island won. The first baseman was 3-5 with a home run and a double, while scoring 2 times. Grand Island is now 4-3.
Barbato had a game-changing home run in the top of the ninth. On a 2-2 fastball from Paul Robinson, he banged a solo home run to left, giving the Islanders a 5-4 lead. It was the 1st home run of the year for Barbato.
"We'll put this win in our pocket and go after the next one," said Barbato.
