The Downsview Mustangs stopped the Santa Clara Vampires, 8-5, at River Otters Ballpark. The Mustangs got a big game from Mike Conrad, who went 2 for 4 with a home run and a walk, while adding 4 RBI and scoring once. Manny Andino got the win, improving to 1-0. He pitched 5.1 innings, giving up 9 hits and 5 runs, while striking out 2 and walking 1. Matt Cassidy nailed down his 2nd save.

Andy Bailey aided the Downsview cause with a run-scoring walk in the top of the sixth. For the game, the left fielder went 1 for 2 with a double and 2 walks.

"Enjoyed this one," Bailey told the Downsview Daily. "But it's back to work tomorrow."

Downsview is still hoping to get on a roll. The win is just their 2nd in 5 games.
