Griffith has 4 hit night, Lancers Move to 2-1
The Canby Lancers beat the Tioga Central Tigers, 14-6, at Ballpark of Villahermosa HS. The Lancers got a fine performance from second baseman Brian Griffith, who captured player of the game honors. He was 4-6 with a home run and 3 singles. He scored 3 runs and drove in 4. Rich Kersey was the winner. Over 7.1 innings, he allowed 6 runs on 8 hits, with no walks and 7 strikeouts. The Lancers, now 2-1, have played some good baseball in the early going.

Griffith put Canby up, 12-3, when he hit a 3-run home run off Michael Nichols in the bottom of the seventh. His 1st home run of the season helped the Lancers capture the win.

"You can't get too high when things go well, or too low when things go bad. Right now, I'm just happy we got the win," Griffith told the Canby Daily News.
