Riverside withstood an impressive performance by Pleasantville third baseman Bruce Allison to defeat the Panthers, 3-2, at Stealth Ballpark. Allison was 2 for 4 with 2 home runs and a walk. The win was Willard Gibson's in relief. His record improves to 1-0. Melvin Silva took the loss for Pleasantville. Losses have been few and far between for the Panthers so far this season. Their record drops to 2-1.

Matt Cooper aided the Riverside cause with a run-scoring walk in the top of the ninth. For the game, the designated hitter drew 3 walks.

"I tell our guys all the time, 'Every pitch is the right pitch if you put it in the right place, you believe in it and have conviction,'" Riverside manager Gary Corwin said.
