Rodda hits 2 home runs, Tigers Move to 1-0
|
Opening day festivities have begun throughout the league. Fans of the Tenafly Tigers were eager to watch Kyle Spraggs square off against Derek Stumpff of the visiting Lerna Lions. In the end, the Tigers won the game, 11-10, with Tristan Rodda earning player of the game honors. The save went to Nick Dingeldein, his 1st this season.
Rodda had a game-changing home run in the bottom of the eighth. On a 0-2 curveball from John Woods, he banged a 2-run home run to left, giving the Tigers a 11-10 lead. It was the 2nd home run of the year for Rodda.
"It wasn't a pretty victory," said Rodda, "but we got it done."
