Golden Bears Clip Vampires in Tight Contest
|
Crowds lined up early in front of Guadalajara HS Grounds, eagerly awaiting the start of the 2034 LITTLE LEAGUE BASEBALL season. On the mound was Jose Lopez for the visiting Santa Clara Vampires and Paul Beloin for the hometown Billings West Golden Bears. In a spirited contest, the Golden Bears pulled out the win, defeating the Vampires by the score of 3-2. Earning player of the game honors was Jose Lopez.
The Golden Bears got a big at-bat from designated hitter Brian Little. For the game, Little was 1 for 3 with a double. He drove in 2 runs. In the bottom of the fourth, with runners on 1st and 2nd, he stroked a 2-run double. His 1st double of the season gave Billings West a 2-0 lead.
"Winning the game is always the first objective," Little said.
