Horne Hits 2 home runs in Saints Win
|
Trois-Rivieres right fielder Tom Horne was instrumental in his team's 8-3 win over the Niagara Stars. Horne, who is tied for 7th in the LBL with a 1.080 OPS, went 3-4 with 2 runs scored to lead the offensive attack for the Saints. Trois-Rivieres reliever Tim Turley got the win, raising his record to 2-3. Chet Winman was tagged with the loss. Even with the win, the Saints have a dismal 18-38 record.
Horne had a game-changing home run in the bottom of the sixth. On a 2-2 changeup from Chet Winman, he banged a 2-run home run to right, giving the Saints a 2-1 lead. It was the 16th home run of the year for Horne.
"We cashed in when we had the chance," said Trois-Rivieres manager Jason Raymond.
