Saints Lose 3-2 Decision to Royales
|
The Montreal Royales beat the Trois-Rivieres Saints, 3-2, at Eliminators Ballpark. The win was largely due to the efforts of center fielder Scott Yarn, who captured player of the game honors. He was 3 for 4 with a home run and a double. He scored 2 runs. Montreal reliever Alan Best picked up the win, upping his record to 2-1. Otis Pinksen shouldered the loss. Montreal is now 26-29, Trois-Rivieres 17-38.
Montreal took a 3-2 lead in the bottom of the seventh inning. With no one out, catcher Jeremy Corcoran hit a solo home run that set the crowd abuzz.
"We squandered some opportunities," said Trois-Rivieres manager Jason Raymond.
