Montreal right-hander Jim Spracklin was sensational in shutting out the Kelowna Heat, 1-0. Montreal is in second place in the Lester B. Person League East Division with a record of 25-29.

The Royales got a big at-bat from right fielder Christopher Cowley. For the game, Cowley went 2-3 with 2 doubles and was hit by a pitch. In the bottom of the first, with a runner on 1st, he stroked a run-scoring double. His 10th double of the season gave Montreal a 1-0 lead.

"Honestly, I'm not frustrated," said Kelowna manager Bob Cunningham. "The effort was great."
