Capitals Solve Heat, 4-3

The Victoria Capitals did just enough to secure a 4-3 victory over the Kelowna Heat at Brantford College Grounds. Nobody did more than left fielder Rick Pépin, who captured player of the game honors. The Capitals bumped their record to 27-26 with this latest triumph.
Pépin contributed a big hit, a 3-run home run, for Victoria in the top of the fifth. With his team trailing 2-0, Pépin took a cutter from Ernie Klein and stroked the home run to left. His 14th home run of the season allowed the Capitals to leap in front, 3-2.
"We found a way to get it done," Pépin said.
