Legends Bang Out 9-5 Win Versus Montreal
|
The Saskatoon Legends overcame a good performance by Montreal third baseman Tom Kirby to knock off Montreal, 9-5, at Ballpark of Red Deer College. Kirby was 2 for 3 with a home run and a walk. He scored 2 times and drove in 2. Ralph Sulis got the win, improving to 3-1. He worked 5 innings, giving up 3 runs on 6 hits, while striking out 3 and walking 3. Terrence Hann closed the door for Saskatoon, picking up his 3rd save of the year.
Carl Poulin, who is tied for 8th in the LBL in runs scored with 39, contributed to the Saskatoon win with a 2-run home run in the bottom of the third. For the game, the left fielder had 2 hits in 4 at-bats with 1 home run, 1 single, 2 runs scored, and 2 runs batted in.
"I'm just looking for a good pitch that I can hit well," said Poulin. "And not try to do too much."
Montreal's current losing streak is now 4 games.
