Vaillancourt Hits 2 home runs in Capitals Win
|
The Victoria Capitals defeated the London Monarchs, 8-6, at Hatchets Ballpark. Victoria right fielder Gideon Vaillancourt was named player of the game for his superb performance. He went 2 for 4 with 2 home runs and a walk. He scored 3 times and drove in 4. Victoria now sits at 23-24, while London falls to 19-28.
Vaillancourt came through with some timely hitting for Victoria. With the score 3-3 in the top of the fourth and two down, Vaillancourt hit a 1-0 fastball for a 2-run home run. His 13th home run of the season made it 5-3, Victoria.
"It was a solid team effort," said Vaillancourt after the game.
