Lockyer Slugs Legends to 10-3 Win
The Saskatoon Legends defeated the London Monarchs, 10-3. Earning player of the game honors was center fielder Louie Lockyer, who was 3-4 with 2 home runs and a walk, while adding 5 RBI and scoring twice. Walton Varner got the win, improving to 6-1. He held the Monarchs to 3 earned runs on 5 hits over 6 innings, while striking out 7 and walking 2. The Legends have an impressive 30-15 record.

Saskatoon took a 7-3 lead on Lockyer's 5th home run of the season. The 3-run home run, which he hit off Martin Lacrosse in the bottom of the sixth, propelled Saskatoon to the win.

"We'll pop the top on a cold one and get back to work tomorrow," Lockyer said.
