Royales Squelch Outlaws Offense in Shutout Win
|
Jim Spracklin never let the Outlaws get in a groove. The right-hander used his bread and butter, his curveball, to pitch the Royales to a 3-0 win. Spracklin got the win, improving to 2-1. He allowed 4 hits and walked 1 over 6.2 innings. Spracklin allowed no earned runs. Getting the save was Dave Mrazek, his 1st.
Terry Merritt, who is rated as the 17th best prospect by BNN, aided the Montreal cause with a solo home run in the bottom of the sixth. For the game, the left fielder went 1 for 4 with a home run.
"Feels good to get the job done," Spracklin said after the game.
The Royales now own a record of 20-23.
