Saints Score Late, Upend Capitals, 6-5
|
The Trois-Rivieres Saints topped the Victoria Capitals, 6-5, with youngster Tom Horne playing a key role. Horne went 1-3 with a home run and 2 walks, while adding 2 RBI and scoring once for the Saints in the win. Steven Pinnell picked up the win in relief, improving his record to 2-1. Mike Patterson was tagged with the loss. Even with the win, the Saints have a dismal 14-28 record.
Ben Chambers was the walk-off hero for Trois-Rivieres. With the game tied in the bottom of the ninth inning, the Saints catcher hit a dramatic run-scoring single to send the teams home.
"Winning in the last at-bat, there's nothing else like it," said Chambers.
