Carruthers Helps Legends Run Win Streak to 5
The Saskatoon Legends knocked off the Kelowna Heat, 5-4, at Ballpark of Red Deer College. Henry Carruthers, who captured player of the game honors, was a big reason Saskatoon won. The catcher was 3-4 with a home run and a double, while adding 4 RBI and scoring once. Jan Woodbury picked up the win with 6 innings of work. He allowed 2 earned runs on 5 hits, while walking 1 and striking out 6. On the season, he is now 3-1. The first-place Legends have won 5 in a row.

The game turned with one out in the bottom of the fourth when Carruthers hit a 2-run home run. It propelled the Legends into the lead, 3-1.

"This was a good win for us," said Carruthers. "It's one more step toward our ultimate goal."
