Carter Canning made an impact in the 14-6 Victoria win over Kelowna. Canning, who is the 5th-best prospect in the Capitals organization, went 3-5 with a home run and a double. He scored 3 times and drove in 2. The Capitals, now 18-20, know that wins in June count the same as wins in September.

Bill Bartlatt was a key contributor to the win for the Capitals. In the top of the second with two out, the light-hitting designated hitter stroked a double to right-center. He was 3 for 6 with a double and 2 singles. He scored 2 times and drove in 3.

"The name of the game is scoring runs," Bartlatt said. "We did a good job of that today."
