Calgary left fielder Keith Harkness had a good game in a losing cause. His team fell, 6-5, to Montreal at Corvettes Ballpark. Harkness was 2 for 3 with 2 home runs and 2 walks. Montreal reliever Dave Horswill was the winner. His record is now 2-1. The losing pitcher was Joe Chute. Earning his 10th save of the year was Stephen Lau.

A crucial at-bat came with a runner on 1st and no one out in the top of the seventh inning. That's when left fielder Terry Merritt, who leads the LBL in triples with 3, drew a walk. The Royales went on to win.

Merritt expressed little emotion after the game. "Every game we win now," he said, "is one less win we'll need to get in the end."
