The Trois-Rivieres Saints faced a tough opponent in London pitcher John Agnew, but did just enough to pull out the victory at Hatchets Ballpark by a final score of 4-1. Agnew went 5 innings and allowed 1 earned run. The win was Bob Pitts's in relief. His record improves to 1-0. Bart Woodward took the loss for London. Waldo Perron, summoned from the bullpen, notched his 4th save.
Paul Marleau, who is the 10th-best prospect in the Saints organization, aided the Trois-Rivieres cause with a 2-run single in the top of the seventh. For the game, the first baseman went 2 for 5 with 2 singles. He drove in 2 runs and scored once.
"We're just going to try to build off this win," said Marleau.
Even with the win, the Saints have a dismal 11-25 record.
