Leahy Stars in Heat Win
|
The Kelowna Heat bested the Montreal Royales, 12-5, at Brantford College Grounds. Jason Leahy was named player of the game. He was 2 for 4 with a home run and a walk, while scoring 2 times and driving in 4. Dan Lovell got the win, improving to 4-1. He held the Royales to 4 earned runs on 5 hits over 6 innings, while striking out 6 and walking 2. Christopher Matson got the save, the 1st for him this season.
Eric Leveque, who is rated as the 86th best prospect by BNN, chipped in for Kelowna with a grand slam home run in the bottom of the fourth. For the game, the third baseman had 2 hits in 4 at-bats with 1 home run, 1 single, 2 runs scored, and 4 RBI.
