Wickett Goes Off, But Monarchs Win
|
Frank Wickett did all he could to help his team win. In the end, though, it wasn't enough to keep the Niagara Stars from losing, 8-6, to the London Monarchs at Drummondville College Grounds. Wickett went 3 for 4 with 2 home runs and a walk. He scored 3 times and drove in 4. The Monarchs improve their record to 16-19 with the win over Niagara.
Gérard Lelièvre, who is rated as the 90th best prospect by BNN, aided the London cause with a 2-run triple in the top of the second. For the game, the third baseman was 2-4 with a triple and a walk. He scored 2 runs and drove in 2.
"It was a solid team effort and we'll try to keep this momentum going," Lelièvre told reporters after the game.
