Royales Raise Rally Flag, Beat Saskatoon, 2-1

Both teams had their chances, but the Montreal Royales eventually prevailed at Ballpark of Red Deer College.
The Royales had to overcome a fine performance from Saskatoon pitcher Jan Woodbury to grab a 2-1 win at Ballpark of Red Deer College. Woodbury allowed no earned runs over 6 innings. Earning his 8th save of the year was Stephen Lau.
Gannon West, who is the 5th-best prospect in the Royales organization, aided the Montreal cause with a run-scoring ground out in the top of the seventh. For the game, the designated hitter drew 1 walk in 4 plate appearances.
"We put together a nice win," West said.
The second-place Royales have won 5 consecutive games.
