Royales Rally to Eke Out Win
The Victoria Capitals got a sterling performance from pitcher Chris Ploughman, but the Royales still prevailed, 5-4. Ploughman was named the player of the game in a losing cause. He threw 6 innings of 3-hit ball. Reliever Dave Mrazek picked up the win. His record improves to 2-1. Bill Acheson took the loss. The Royales, at 15-18, have now won 4 straight.

The clutch at-bat came in the bottom of the 11th inning, when Montreal second baseman Garland Rolfe, facing Bill Acheson, had a run-scoring walk. It gave the Royales the 5-4 win.

"Both teams played hard," said Montreal manager Kevin Haynes.
