With designated hitter Kirk Valcourt leading the charge, the London Monarchs defeated the Trois-Rivieres Saints, 11-1, at Blue Wings Ballpark. Valcourt, who leads the LBL in triples with 2, went 2-4 with a home run and a walk. He scored 3 runs and drove in 2. London reliever Mohamed Lambert was credited with the win, to go to 2-2. Jason Doherty took the loss for Trois-Rivieres. The Saints, now 10-22, have lost 6 straight.

Eric St.john, who is tied for 4th in the LBL in bases on balls with 24, aided the London cause with a grand slam home run in the top of the seventh. For the game, the left fielder went 1-4 with a home run and a walk, while adding 4 RBI and scoring once.

"The boys were really swinging the bats today," winning manager Chet Hooper said.
