The Victoria Capitals defeated the Calgary Outlaws, 6-2, at Corvettes Ballpark. Victoria right fielder Gideon Vaillancourt was named player of the game for his superb performance. He hit 2 home runs. He scored 3 runs and drove in 3. The winner was Bob Reusch, who threw 82 pitches over 5.1 innings. The right-hander was charged with 2 runs on 4 hits. Victoria has now won 3 in a row.
John Matchim, who is the 7th-best prospect in the Capitals organization, aided the Victoria cause with a run-scoring walk in the top of the fifth. For the game, the designated hitter went 1-3 with a walk.
