Fuego Need Extras to Top Black Knights

Fans brought energy and enthusiasm to the Brooklyn Black Knights home opener. Elijah Green started for the home team against Clint Taurus for the Santa Fe Fuego. The Black Knights were unable to reward the home crowd with a win. The final score was 2-0, Santa Fe. Elijah Green was named player of the game. Santa Fe reliever Austin Price picked up the win, upping his record to 1-0. Elijah Green shouldered the loss. Jun'ichi Suzuki earned the save for Santa Fe, his 1st of the year.
The Fuego got a big at-bat from catcher Matt Clark. For the game, Clark went 1 for 4 with a double. In the top of the tenth, with a runner on 2nd, he stroked a run-scoring double. His 1st double of the season gave Santa Fe a 1-0 lead.
In postgame comments to the Santa Fe Herald, Clark said, "If the effort is there, the wins will come."
