Monarchs Prevail, 2-1, Over Montreal

The London Monarchs took Montreal pitcher Jim Spracklin's best shot and still were able to claim a win at Hatchets Ballpark. The final score had London getting past the Royales, 2-1. Spracklin went 5.1 innings and allowed 1 earned run, striking out 6. London reliever Mohamed Lambert picked up the win, upping his record to 1-2. Jim Spracklin was saddled with the loss. Harry Ayotte earned the save for London, his 6th of the year.
Eric St.john drew 2 walks for London. The top prospect had a key at-bat in the bottom of the third. With one out and runners on 2nd and 3rd, he broke a 1-1 tie with a run-scoring sacrifice fly off Jim Spracklin. It was his 13th RBI of the season.
"We take it day by day here," said St.john, "and today was a good one for us."
London has now won 3 in a row.
