The Montreal Royales defeated the Kelowna Heat, 6-2, at Eliminators Ballpark today. Leading the charge for Montreal was left fielder Terry Merritt. He went 4-5 with 4 singles. He drove in 2 runs and scored once. Montreal is now 11-17, Kelowna 16-12.
Gannon West, who is tied for 6th in the LBL in triples with 1, aided the Montreal cause with a run-scoring single in the bottom of the sixth. For the game, the designated hitter went 2 for 3 with 2 singles and a walk.
"We put a lot of pressure on ourselves," Merritt told a Montreal Citizen reporter. "Sometimes we need just to relax."
