Heat Solve Saints, 4-2
|
Kelowna Heat starter Dan Lovell was in a groove as he led his team to a win over the Trois-Rivieres Saints, 4-2. In 5.1 innings, Lovell surrendered 5 hits, while striking out 6 and walking 1. He allowed 1 run. Tom Simpson got credit for the save for Kelowna. It was his 6th of the year.
The Heat got a big at-bat from first baseman Jason Leahy. For the game, Leahy was 1 for 2 with a home run and 2 walks. In the top of the sixth, with the bases empty, he stroked a solo home run. His 4th home run of the season gave Kelowna a 2-1 lead.
"We had a good game plan," Lovell said, "and we were able to execute it."
The Heat have an impressive 15-8 record.
