The Niagara Stars got a superb performance from catcher Warren Wooldridge, but the Victoria Capitals still won the game, 2-1. Wooldridge was named the player of the game despite the loss. He was 1 for 2 with a home run and a walk. Jack Hepburn got credit for the win, improving to 1-1. He allowed no runs on 1 hit in 4.1 innings. The Capitals now own a record of 9-13.
Carter Canning, who is the 5th-best prospect in the Capitals organization, aided the Victoria cause with a run-scoring sacrifice fly in the bottom of the first. For the game, the catcher went 2-3 with 2 singles.
"Winning the game is always the first objective," Canning said.
