The first-place Niagara Stars welcomed Kelowna to Drummondville College Grounds.

The Niagara Stars took Kelowna pitcher Alex Julien's best shot and still were able to claim a win at Drummondville College Grounds. The final score had Niagara getting past the Heat, 7-5. Julien went 6 innings and allowed 2 earned runs, striking out 4. Niagara reliever Corey Rathwell picked up the win to move to 3-0. Rich Boivin suffered the loss.

Had Dan Poapst not delivered a key base hit in the bottom of the seventh, the outcome might have been different. Instead, with two down and runners on 1st and 3rd, Poapst hit a run-scoring single. That made the score 3-2, in favor of the Stars.

"It feels good to get this one," Poapst told the Niagara Times.

The win boosts the Stars to 11-8. The loss puts the Heat at 13-6.
