The Victoria Capitals got a strong performance from pitcher Brendan Hoffmann, who stymied the Montreal offense en route to a 2-1 win at Ballpark of Chilliwack College. Kirk Winman earned the save for Victoria, his 3rd of the year. The third-place Royales have lost 7 straight games.

Kip Waltenbery drew 1 walk in 4 trips to the plate for Victoria. The 21-year old second baseman had a key at-bat in the bottom of the eighth. With two out and the bases loaded, he broke a 1-1 tie with a run-scoring walk off John Beauman. It was his 9th walk of the season.
