The Niagara Stars faced a tough opponent in Victoria pitcher Justin Adler, but did just enough to pull out the victory at Drummondville College Grounds by a final score of 4-2. Adler went 5.1 innings and allowed 2 earned runs. Reliever Rick Coombs picked up the win. His record improves to 1-1. Jack Hepburn took the loss. Rich Neilson was credited with the save for Niagara, his 5th of the season.

Had George Greening not delivered a key base hit in the bottom of the seventh, the outcome might have been different. Instead, with two down and the bases loaded, Greening hit a 2-run single. That made the score 4-2, in favor of the Stars.

"We did a lot of things right," said Greening.
