Stars Lose, 4-2, at Ballpark of Chilliwack College

The rain at Ballpark of Chilliwack College did not keep Victoria and Niagara from finishing their game.
The Victoria Capitals topped the Niagara Stars, 4-2, in CANADIAN BASEBALL LEAGUE action at Ballpark of Chilliwack College. The player of the game was Victoria pitcher Chris Ploughman. The winning pitcher was Ploughman, now 1-1. He tossed 5.1 innings of 5-hit ball, while walking 2 and fanning 4. Kirk Winman earned the save, his 2nd.
Gideon Vaillancourt, who is tied for 5th in the LBL in bases on balls with 10, chipped in for Victoria with a 2-run home run in the bottom of the first. For the game, the right fielder had 2 hits in 4 at-bats with 1 home run, 1 single, 1 run scored, and 2 RBI.
"We made a couple of mistakes," said Niagara skipper Don Cooper, "and it cost us."
The Capitals bumped their record to 6-6 with this latest triumph.
