Legends Prevail, 6-4, Over Niagara
|
The Saskatoon Legends topped the Niagara Stars, 6-4, in CANADIAN BASEBALL LEAGUE action at Ballpark of Red Deer College. The player of the game was Saskatoon left fielder Carl Poulin. Losses have been few and far between for the Stars so far this season. Their record drops to 7-3.
The Legends got a big at-bat from designated hitter Burt Kavanagh. For the game, Kavanagh went 1 for 3 with a home run and a walk. He drove in 3 runs and scored once. In the bottom of the fifth, with runners on 1st and 3rd, he stroked a 3-run home run. His 8th home run of the season gave Saskatoon a 6-3 lead.
"Winning is contagious," said Kavanagh. "We're looking forward to the next game."
