Outlaws Raise Rally Flag, Beat Victoria, 5-1
|
The Calgary Outlaws defeated the Victoria Capitals, 5-1, in CANADIAN BASEBALL LEAGUE action at Ballpark of Chilliwack College, with Calgary pinch hitter Trevor Ayotte named player of the game. Greg Rattray, credited with the win, is now 1-0. He allowed no runs on 1 hit in 1.1 innings. Calgary, now 1-2, is off to a slow start.
Ayotte had a game-changing home run in the top of the ninth. On a 1-1 slider from Kirk Winman, he banged a 2-run home run to right, giving the Outlaws a 3-1 lead. It was the 1st home run of the year for Ayotte.
Ayotte told a Calgary Bulletin reporter that he was "satisfied" with the win.
