Wickett Hits 2 home runs in Stars Win
|
The Niagara Stars topped the Calgary Outlaws, 5-2, in CANADIAN BASEBALL LEAGUE action at Corvettes Ballpark. The player of the game was Niagara right fielder Frank Wickett. Seth McBrayer got credit for the win, improving to 1-0. He allowed 1 run on 1 hit in 5 innings. The loss lowers the Calgary record to 0-2.
Wickett had a key at-bat for Niagara early in the game. With a runner on 1st, he hit a 2-run home run. It was his 2nd home run of the season and gave Niagara an early 2-0 lead.
"I'm just looking for a good pitch that I can hit well," said Wickett. "And not try to do too much."
