Opening day festivities have begun throughout the league. Fans of the Victoria Capitals were eager to watch Justin Adler square off against Bill Montgomery of the visiting Kelowna Heat. In the end, the Capitals won the game, 12-0, with Justin Adler earning player of the game honors.

The Capitals liked what they saw from Adler. The 21-year old pitcher had a commanding presence on the mound, limiting the Heat to no earned runs on 3 hits over 7 innings, and striking out 8.

"Justin was throwing strikes, locating well," said Victoria manager Bill Hilliard.
