Zachary Long was instrumental in his team's 11-5 triumph over the Rice Owls. The first baseman was 3 for 4 with a home run, a double, and a walk, while scoring 2 runs and driving in 4 for the Oregon Ducks. Kevin Lewis closed it out for his 5th save. The Ducks bumped their record to 28-18 with this latest triumph.

Long had a game-changing home run in the bottom of the sixth. On a first pitch fastball from Jimmy Pennington, he banged a grand slam home run to right, giving the Ducks a 7-4 lead. It was the 13th home run of the year for Long.

"We came out aggressive," said Ducks manager Mark Patrick. "We came out swinging the bats."
