John Leads Trojans to Win
Steve John was instrumental in his team's 10-5 triumph over the Louisiana-Layfayette Ragin Cajuns. The third baseman went 3 for 3 with a home run, a double, a walk, and was hit by a pitch. He scored 4 times for the USC Trojans. The Trojans raised their record to 21-25.

Brett Stark was 1 for 4 with a walk for USC. The 21-year old catcher had a key at-bat in the bottom of the third. With two out and the bases loaded, he broke a 1-1 tie with a run-scoring walk off John Newsom. It was his 19th walk of the season.

"We came out aggressive," said Trojans manager Tommy Hayes. "We came out swinging the bats."
