Sun Devils Stymie Tulane, Take 5-1 Win
|
It was a good time at Ballpark of Aptos Hills-Larkin Valley College, where fans came to watch the Tulane Green Wave and Arizona State Sun Devils get after it.
Arizona State starter David Diaz pitched effectively against the Tulane Green Wave at Ballpark of Aptos Hills-Larkin Valley College. The right-hander led his team to a 5-1 win. The Sun Devils own a robust 29-17 mark.
Tim Sorrells had a big 2-run single for the Sun Devils in the bottom of the second inning. With Arizona State leading 2-0 and runners on 2nd and 3rd, he got a fastball from Pat Corbin and stroked the single to right-center. It was his 41st hit of the season, and more importantly, it put the Sun Devils ahead, 4-0.
"I made some pitches when I had to," said Diaz.
