Tar Heels Bang Out 6-1 Win Versus Wake Forest
|
Tim Oliver never let Wake Forest get something going. The North Carolina right-hander commanded his fastball in pitching the Tar Heels to a 6-1 win. Josh Huntsman finished to wrap up his 7th save. The Tar Heels bumped their record to 29-16 with this latest triumph.
Omar Veliz, who is the 2nd-best prospect in the Tar Heels organization, chipped in for North Carolina with a 2-run home run in the bottom of the fifth. For the game, the right fielder had 2 hits in 3 at-bats with 1 home run, 1 single, 1 run scored, and 2 RBI.
"We had a nice day," said North Carolina skipper William Wilson.
