Bulldogs Win in Extras
Tulane first baseman Mike Stacy was sensational. He went 4-6 with a home run, 3 singles, and a walk. He drove in 3 runs and scored once, but it wasn't enough to rally his team to a win. Mississippi State beat the Green Wave, 8-7. Stacy was named the player of the game despite the loss. The 10th-place Bulldogs improved to 23-21.

The clutch at-bat came in the bottom of the 13th inning, when Mississippi State center fielder Mike Rizzo, facing Dane Palmer, had a run-scoring sacrifice fly. It gave the Bulldogs the 8-7 win.

In postgame comments to the Mississippi State News, Rizzo said, "If the effort is there, the wins will come."
