Owls Top Wildcats to Even Record
|
Arizona shortstop Devin Long was sensational. He went 3-3 with a double, 2 singles, and a walk, but it wasn't enough to rally his team to a win. Rice beat the Wildcats, 6-2. Long was named the player of the game despite the loss. The Owls bumped their record to 22-22 with this latest triumph.
The Owls got a big at-bat from first baseman Justin Weseman. For the game, Weseman was 1 for 5 with a home run. He drove in 3 runs and scored once. In the top of the first, with runners on 2nd and 3rd, he stroked a 3-run home run. His 14th home run of the season gave Rice a 3-0 lead.
"We played a good game and came out on top," said Weseman.
