Rebels Prevail, 7-5, Over Arizona
|
The Arizona Wildcats got a superb performance from center fielder Frank Barbato, but the Ole Miss Rebels still won the game, 7-5. Barbato was named the player of the game despite the loss. He went 4-4 with 2 doubles, 2 singles, and a walk. Dan Oliver, credited with the win, is now 1-0. He allowed 2 runs on 5 hits in 1.2 innings. Cory Hoffman closed the game out for Ole Miss, earning his 4th save.
Ole Miss used the clutch hitting of Kelly Perry to capture the win. The right fielder drilled a bases-clearing double in the top of the second inning to give the Rebels the lead, 5-2. For the game, Perry had 1 single and 1 double in 4 at-bats.
"We'll pop the top on a cold one and get back to work tomorrow," Perry said.
