The Houston Cougars defeated the Arizona State Sun Devils, 6-2, in Rod Dedeaux League action at Ballpark of Aptos Hills-Larkin Valley College, with Houston designated hitter Jason Cizek named player of the game. The Cougars bumped their record to 26-16 with this latest triumph.

The Cougars got a big at-bat from shortstop Joe Shook. For the game, Shook went 2 for 4 with a triple and a double, while adding 2 RBI and scoring once. In the top of the fourth, with a runner on 1st, he stroked a run-scoring triple. His 3rd triple of the season gave Houston a 3-2 lead.

Shook told a Houston News reporter that he was "satisfied" with the win.
