Seminoles Pull Even With 6-3 Victory
|
The Florida State Seminoles defeated the Tennessee Volunteers, 6-3, in Skip Bertman League action at Ballpark of Riverdale College, with Florida State pitcher Lance Crumpton named player of the game. Crumpton went 5.2 innings to notch the win. He scattered 9 hits, walked 0, and struck out 7. His record improves to 4-2. Neil Vandermark closed the game out for Florida State, earning his 7th save.
Chris Parker drew 1 walk in 4 trips to the plate for Florida State. The 21-year old shortstop had a key at-bat in the bottom of the fifth. With no one out and the bases loaded, he broke a 2-2 tie with a run-scoring walk off Chris Taylor. It was his 16th walk of the season.
"We'll pop the top on a cold one and get back to work tomorrow," Parker said.
